Torino are reviving their bid for Spartak Moscow striker Fernando Cavenaghi. The Argentina international's contract at Spartak expires next June and the Russian club are ready to sell in January. Torino president Urbano Cairo tried to sign Cavenaghi over the summer, but was scared off by Spartak's demands of £700,000 for a season-long loan. But with Spartak now willing to sell, Cairo is returning to the negotiating table.

Cavenaghi Offers Himself To Torino
The former River Plate striker is currently playing in Russia and would like to try out his luck in a more difficult and prestigious league.
After a very good first part of the season, Torino are trying to strengthen the squad in order to keep up their momentum and maybe even reach a Uefa Cup spot by the end of the season.
In order to do so, the Granata have targeted four main players: in defence Andreolli of Inter, for the midfield, Delvecchio from Sampdoria and Modesto from Reggina and for the forward line Pellissier of Chievo Verona.
Other players linked to Torino are Borriello, Caracciolo, Maccarone and Di Vaio. In the meantime, Argentinean striker Cavenaghi has expressed his desire to play in Serie A by offering himself to the Granata. It is yet unclear whether Torino are interested in signing the Spartak Moscow striker, but he would definitely be a very good addition to Alberto Zaccheroni’s squad.

Representatives of Spartak Moscow striker Fernando Cavenaghi have offered the Argentine to Torino.
Aware that president Urbano Cairo is in the market for a new striker, which has seen Massimo Maccarone (Middlesbrough), Marco Di Vaio (Monaco) and Andrea Caracciolo (Palermo) all linked with Torino in the last week, Cavenaghi's agents have put his name forward for consideration.
Spartak are willing to sell for £6 million and Cavenaghi was hoping for a move to Deportivo La Coruna. But talks between the two clubs have dried up in the last fortnight and the Argentine's handlers are now seeking an alternative route out of Moscow.

Manchester City are being linked with Spartak Moscow striker Fernando Cavenaghi.
The Argentine youngster wants to leave the Russian giants this month and has attracted enquiries from Racing Santander and Torino.

City boss Stuart Pearce is also keen on Cavenaghi, who could move to Eastlands on-loan with a view to a permanent deal in June.

Four Serie A clubs are chasing Bordeaux striker Fernando Cavenaghi.
The Argentine has struggled to settle in France and has David Bellion, Marouane Chamakh and Jussie all ahead of him in the striker's pecking order at Bordeaux.

Zaragoza And Torino Chase Cavenaghi

Real Zaragoza and Torino are both interested in signing Bordeaux striker Fernando Cavenaghi according to reports in the Argentine press.

Cavenaghi has been in excellent form for Bordeaux so far this season, scoring eight league goals for the team that currently lie second in La Championnat, just three points behind leaders Lyon.

His performances have attracted the attention of clubs in some of the bigger European leagues, with Zaragoza and Torino said to have already approached Bordeaux to sound out the potential availability of the Argentine striker come the summer.

Zaragoza are thought to consider Cavenaghi an ideal replacement for Diego Milito, should he leave the club at the end of the season, while Torino have tracked the twenty-four year old since his time at River Plate and are now ready to make their move.

Cavenaghi first rose to prominence with River and scored over fifty goals for the Buenos Aires giants before moving to Spartak Moscow in 2004.

He struggled to adapt to the style of play and the language in Russia and even though his initial goal output was promising, he became progressively worse over the course of his second season and was sold to Bordeaux in January 2007.

It is reported that the French side paid somewhere in the region of $13million to secure Cavenaghi's signature and after a successful year and a half at the club, any potential suitors are probably going to have to spend at least $18-20million before Bordeaux would consider selling their star striker.
